ACCORDION BOOK DESIGN PROCESS
This project is one of my top three projects to have been given. We were given three overall topics to base the accordion on: superstitions, the five senses, or urban legends/old wives’ tales. Superstitions have always fascinated me, and death has always been a curious taboo subject for me, so I decided to marry the two subjects.
When I imagine death as a subject, it’s always been black and white for me, and I wanted to play on the imagery of golden sand to represent time, hence the gold paint. This project was illustration heavy, and I wanted to keep to a specific art style I had been working on throughout the years, with the end results being completely satisfying.
