 EXHIBITION DESIGN PROCESS

During my final year at JMU I was given the opportunity to be the sole designer of a Japanese exhibition that would be housed in the Lisanby Museum, a museum located on campus. Extensive thought and ideas were discussed and filtered for this project; what colors would best suite the exhibition’s intended theme, how extensive or simplistic should the graphic elements be, etc.

The chief curator, contributing curator, and myself decided that we should pull key colors from the objects to be shown, and then find a single complementary color to serve as an accent. In this case, a deep rich blue was a common element in the landscape and clothing designs, and to establish an elegant tone, I added gold.
